Family-friendly and neighbourly
Walnut Grove provides access to many businesses, both independent and chain, within short driving distances. There are several shopping plazas and three major grocery stores in the community, as well as services and housing specifically designed for seniors.
The area is good for young families. The Walnut Grove Community Centre hosts an Olympic-sized swimming pool, gymnasiums, meeting rooms, fitness facility, library and skate park. There are also many elementary schools, as well as one high school.
The community is located next to the North Langley/Surrey Industrial Area, known as Port Kells, and is at cross roads north of Highway 1, providing easy access to Highway1, for east or west bound (HOV and Toll) commuting. Translink bus service is accessible to most area residents via main roads and the nearby Carvolth Exchange, which provides a Park & Ride facility.
There is full-time fire protection provided by the Township of Langley. As with other town centres in Langley, policing is provided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). A community police station is located in a local mall.
